Ireland’s 2026 St. Patrick’s Day Formal Ball in Africa
To celebrate the 2026 St. Patrick’s Day in true style, Nairobi’s Irish community and friends of Ireland gathered for a distinguished Formal Ball. Beyond honoring Ireland’s patron saint on March 17th, the evening became a global celebration of Irish culture, lively music and famously warm Irish hospitality.
The gathering also highlighted the decades long friendship between the two countries. Since establishing diplomatic ties in 1979 and especially since the reopening of the Irish Embassy in Nairobi in 2014, Kenya and Ireland have cultivated a vibrant partnership. Over an evening of shared tradition guests celebrated not just Irish heritage, but the cultural and economic bonds uniting the two nations.
